Dongyue Sunny Zhang is an designer with interest in pursuing architecture that ties with its context in both traditional and computational methods, and is especially drawn to the way of making that could be applied in various situations in order to generate unexpected outcomes. Dongyue's current research is on the phenomenon of water and its visual perception. 

Dongyue holds a Master of Architecture degree from Rhode Island School of Design and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Minor in Art with focus on ceramics from the University of Minnesota,Twin Cities. Dongyue has practiced architectural design with Leo A Daly in Minneapolis, Chiasmus in Beijing, Marpillero Pollak Architects in New York City, CBT Architects and NBBJ in Boston Massachusetts. Dongyue currently lives and practices architecture at Mahlum Architects in Seattle, Washington.
